Seven ways to buy for a guy…
Buying a gift for a guy can be a stressful and confusing exercise. However, we’ve put together our seven ways to buy for a guy to make things a little easier:
1. Don’t be afraid to ask him what he wants. However, if you want it to be a surprise, go into full James Bond-mode – keep your eyes and ears open and keep a note of your findings to figure out that one thing that he’s really after.
2. Consider his lifestyle. Is he a sports fan? Workaholic? Student? Survivalist? Partier? Fitness/Health Enthusiast? You need to make sure the gift fits the person – but there are ideas that are universal for all, for example, an umbrella will be any British man’s best friend.
3. Keep budget in mind and what your relationship is like. It’s a little creepy when you spend over £30 on someone – unless they’re good friends or family. Luckily, we’ve curated out gift shop with gifts from £10 and under up to £50 and under.
4. Play to his strengths. Someone who works in corporate finance will appreciate certain gifts more than a freelance graphic designer. Cufflinks are a great way to complement someone who wears a suit while a new satchel will be the perfect present for someone who is on the move at work.
5. Think about what he already has. We all know some men have a certain affinity to some brands more than others. Our Gift Shop can handpick different offerings from the likes of DKNY, Calvin Klein, French Connection and Ted Baker – who does he already wear?
6. A Gift Card isn’t admitting defeat. Sometimes you just don’t know what to buy someone and you know they will know best. Take the pressure off with a Moss Bros. gift card. They can be pre-loaded from £10.00 and can be personalised with your own message.
7. Sometimes basic is better. We all need the little things and guys really appreciate any opportunity to avoid the shops and get the essentials. That’s why socks, underwear and scarves make great gifts. Some might say they’re cliché but we think when you’re picking from Calvin Klein, French Connection and Ted Baker you can be sure they’ll be stylish as well as practical.
