Lead the revolution with Tailor Me

You’re an original, so what you wear should be too.

With our Custom Made  personalisation service, you’ve got the opportunity to create a true original. From fabric and fit to your signature finishing touches, we’ll custom-make your suit exactly how you want it and like nobody else has it.

This season, we’ve collated the very best of our new fabrics to help you challenge the tailoring status quo. For those who know what they want and how they want it, or the man brave enough to try something new, we scour the world for the best fabrics, working directly with mills and makers to bring you exclusive cloths you won’t find anywhere else. From the traditional to the modern, from luxurious pure wool to bold, beautiful patterns, there’s something to suit every taste and personality.

After all, there’s no stronger statement than making one that is uniquely yours.

Here’s our pick of the best new fabrics available through Tailor Me this season.

BRIGHT BLUE TEXTURE

Above left, this mid-weight, wool-blend cloth offers a fashion-forward alternative to the ubiquitous blue suit. Its weave blends various tones of blue together to create a rich depth of colour, while its surface has a ‘hairy’ effect, giving great texture and visual interest that’ll set it and you apart from the rest.

BRICK RED

A move-on from last season’s burgundy tones, this brick red wool-blend fabric (above right) gets a luxurious upgrade with metallic copper undertones. Its 250g weave is light enough to wear now but still offers enough weight to take you well into the autumn months. A little bit special, we think this fabric would be a great choice to stand out at an autumn wedding.

NAVY CITY STRIPE

The traditional pinstripe has experienced a comeback in popularity recently, with its characteristic stripes seen on the backs of more than just the usual City boys. This version, above left, has been tweaked to suit today, crafted in a soft-touch, wool-rich cloth with a muted blue-on-blue design (rather than the harsher white-on-blue standard).

LIGHT GREY SPECKLED

Tactile and warm, this wool-rich cloth has a pleasantly weighty handle that’ll keep the chill firmly at bay on really cold days. Seen above right, its speckled effect looks a little like a print from a distance, but up close has a beautifully textured finish that’ll work really well with knitwear – try it with a rollneck jumper for an on-trend alternative to your usual shirt.

ITALIAN GREY WINDOWPANE

Bold and luxurious, the windowpane check cloth, above left, is crafted in super 110s wool from Italian mill, Marzotto. This high-grade wool has a super-soft touch and will drape beautifully on the body, while still providing great insulation for wintry days. Dating back to 1836, Marzotto has provided fabrics to some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, so if you’re looking to add a touch of luxury to your tailoring line-up, this is the cloth for you.

SOFT BLUE FLANNEL PRINCE OF WALES

On the right, this beautiful yarn blends shades of blue, black and grey for a vibrant update on the classic Prince of Wales check. Mid-weight in construction, it’s woven from 100% wool so it’ll make a warm but versatile option to lift your working-week wardrobe during the colder months.

5 things to ask your tailor

For a suit that’s yours and yours alone.

FIVE THINGS TO ASK YOUR TAILOR

FOR A SUIT THAT’S YOURS AND YOURS ALONE

• WORDS: C. STEWART

Tempted to create your own one-of-a-kind suit? Or perhaps you’ve already made your Tailor Me appointment? Smart move: a bespoke suit is a rite of passage for many men and nothing will ever feel as great as tailoring that’s been crafted to suit you, and only you.

But how do you make sure you get the most out of your appointment? Whether you’re going bespoke for the first time or are coming back for more, arming yourself with a few talking points will help us help you make your very finest suit.

WHAT CUT OR DESIGN WILL SUIT ME BEST?

Not all suits will suit you. Simple, but true. Our suit experts help the nation’s men dress smartly day-in, day-out and know which styles work for which sizes and shapes. By all means, come prepared with ideas, pictures of celebs or a style you’ve seen on Instagram – all are welcome! – but be prepared to take your suit expert’s advice on board, as they’ll be able to realise your vision in its most flattering form.

WHICH FABRIC SHOULD I PICK FOR MY SUIT?

Our Tailor Me service lets you take your pick from over 140 fabrics – which is great in terms of options, but how do you begin to narrow them down? Talk to your suit expert about where you plan to wear the suit, what time of year you plan to wear it, how regularly, and what sort of thing you’ll be doing when you wear it. Is it for a special occasion? Will it need to keep you warm or cool? They’ll then be able to advise you on the different properties of the fabrics and help you choose the one that’s going to work for what you need.

WHAT CAN I WEAR TO COMPLEMENT MY SUIT?

Sure, you’re here for a custom-made suit, but use the chance to tap our suit experts for their tips on how to style it too. From which style of shirt to the shoes and accessories that’ll set it off, make sure you leave with the knowledge to show off your masterpiece to its best advantage.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY BESPOKE SUIT?

You’ve invested your time and money in the experience of creating a one-of-a-kind suit, so it pays to learn how to care for it so you can get as much wear as possible out of it. Also think about building more life into your suit, such as opting for a more durable full-canvas construction or doubling its lifespan by adding an extra pair of trousers. Ask your suit expert for their advice on how to make your suit go the distance.

HOW CAN I PERSONALISE MY SUIT?

From linings and buttons to ticket pockets and trouser cuffs, there are over 297,000 possible styling combinations available through Tailor Me. You don’t need us to tell you: that’s a lot! The ultimate goal of your bespoke suit is to serve you, your tastes and your needs. Be prepared to open up and let your suit expert get to know you a bit. From what you normally wear, to what you do every day to the places you like to go – the more they know, the better they’ll be able to tailor your newest suit to be your absolute finest.

Introducing The Tailored Three

Introducing The Tailored Three

We all know a great suit can take you places. So it stands to reason that a suit custom-made to your needs and tastes will take you even further.

We teamed up with creative trio The Outlanders to show how our Custom Made service helped them suit up for the ride. The guys, who share a love for mixing eastern and western cultures and a taste for outlandish style, each personalised their own Tailor Me suit and took to their bikes for the day as The Tailored Three.

Leaving lycra to the cycling professionals, John Jarrett, Eshan Kali and Galih Richardson each got decked out in sharp 3-pieces and went about their days on the streets of London. From the daily commute to darting from A-B to after-work socialising, their looks are proof that wherever you’re going, a custom-made suit will set you up for the ride.

John (pictured above) selected an elegant blue checked cloth for his 3-piece suit. A half-canvas construction makes his suit breathable and allows for greater movement – ideal for getting about on two wheels. Keeping things tonal, he opted for a slate blue lining and matching buttons, with peak lapels adding that little something extra.

Eshan also plumped for a bold check cloth, this time in a sophisticated grey hue. He complimented its monochromatic design with slick peak lapels and a black lining and black buttons; note how his immaculately knotted-and-pinned tie, hat and sunglasses are all also black to extend the theme.

Galih chose a classic pinstripe fabric for his suit, adding in the matching waistcoat. He set off its navy hue by electing for contrast white stitching to pick out the fabric’s stripe. His suit features peak lapels like his peers’, but he also went for turn ups on his trousers, adding a casual counter to the traditional pinstripe fabric.

The Suit Up manifesto

Showing that you care is the mark of a great man. Now, more than ever, the world needs us to care – and it’s a safe bet you’ll feel better for it too.

It’s time to signal to the world that you respect it – and yourself – starting with the way you dress.

No man ever changed the world in his joggers. Make smart your new normal and stride confidently into the sartorial revolution.

Don’t just fall in line.

Take pride in how you put yourself together and show the world who you are, and what you stand for.

Redefine what you think it means to wear a suit.

Break the rules. Express yourself. Be bold enough to show your colours.

Trying something new is the best way to grow. Step outside your comfort zone.

You might find you like it there.
