EASY SETS TO MATCH THE ENERGY OF LAID-BACK SUMMER LIVING

Words: C. Saramowicz

Co-ords have been trending the last few summer seasons, and for good reason – easy to style, cohesive and comfortable to wear, they’re the ideal warm weather get-up for a festivals, garden parties and everything in between.

Whether you wear them together or as separates, it’s easy to create a multitude of outfits from a matching top and shorts set. Here are our takes on this season’s trending style.

The statement maker

If you’re not accustomed to wearing patterns, they might initially feel daunting – done right, however, and they can really elevate a co-ord set. Geo prints are a great way to add a bit of difference to your wardrobe without overdoing it, especially if you choose a monochromatic colour palette. Wear together for a striking look or combine the top with a navy pair of shorts to ease things up a bit.

Stripes galore

You can’t go wrong with stripes, especially if they come in flattering tones. Crafted from airy seersucker developed by Japanese fabric specialists Takisada, the fabric is lightly puckered which gives it a bit of texture. Seersucker is also very lightweight, which means you can easily pack it in your holiday suitcase without worrying about the extra weight. Wear as a set or pair the shirt with some linen trousers for a breezy weekend look.

Moss - sun print shirt

Summer prints

If the summer isn’t looking as sunny as you expected, bring the sun to you. This sunny print will look just as good by the pool at will at a garden party, especially if you wear it as a set.  Crafted from 100% cotton with a slight texture, it’s breathable and lightweight, which means you’ll be comfortable as well as looking great. We love the stripe detail at the bottom of the shorts that matches the hem of the shirt.

A little bit of texture

If prints really aren’t for you, go for a classic set in a neutral or navy tone. These are the easiest to style as separates and look really cohesive worn together too. Our take is made from 100% cotton with a terry towelling weave, designed to have a super soft handfeel and absorb moisture too. With a drawstring waist and a skipper polo top, it’s one of the more casual sets, great for days out in the pub or park. Finish with a pair of comfy trainers.
